100 Little Things....

So I came across a post in the blogging hemisphere of the interwebz last night that I found pretty interesting and thought I would steal the idea and create my own. It was a list of 100 little things to do in the next year of your life to make you happy. Now I have a busy year ahead of me so this will be 100 things to do in life...

It's the Final Count Down!!!!!!!!!

Now tell me you didn't totally sing that title AND hum the guitar riff!! I knew it couldn't just be me that breaks out into song and the drop of a ... word. :P

So it's no real secret that I came to France for my year abroad, full of wonder, joy and high, high hopes... Which all came tumbling down roughly two months into my stay. This was mainly a mixture of the delightful young girls in Lyon, who take great pleasure in telling other girls they are fat. Regina George had nothing on these chicks! A little bit of homesickness (okay a lot of homesickness) and the fateful Halloween night out, where there were fisticuffs at dawn with some french guy over a lack of cigarettes! I'm not going to lie, it knocked me for six. I can hold my own when I know who I'm up against but some random drunk french guy? He could have been carrying anything so it wasn't worth the risk!

YESS!! Let's celebrate!

Back to Purgatory

I flew back to France yesterday and surprisingly it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be! I am moving house this week on top of an exam and a 10 page essay to finish, so it's going to be a busy week!

I have however, returned from England with a new attitude towards my life here in France for the next 6 months. I met a lovely girl from my British university on my flight and by chance we were sitting next to each other on the plane! She reassured me about my year abroad and helped answer a few questions about my future when I go back home for my final year........

Ooh La La!!

So it turns out that my fairy godmother was looking down upon me over the last few weeks, organising my apartment in France, my money and all the other problems that seemed to rain down on me.

As a result, I blog to you today from Ze Land of Ze Frogs! Yep I have upped and left England and begun a year long adventure in France! It's going pretty well so far I must admit! Although money is tight and I am living on a shoestring, the weather is good, university is (frustrating but good) coming along well, I managed to take my Spanish exam without any hiccups and I'm starting to make friends.

Viva Valencia!

So over the summer I went on a study vacation to Valencia, Spain. I'm pretty sure you'll all remember how homesick I got and how certain things went wrong. Well despite all these things, I still look back now, thinking about how I miss it and wished I'd done more!

My trip to Valencia was not only enriching in terms of how much I learnt about the language, but also in terms of the friendships I forged and the confidence I built! :) But most importantly I learnt about myself.

And i thought it would be just another holiday!

Jetting Off To Paradise!

If you've not guessed after the year and a half I've been doing this blog thing, then you should probably know that I love travelling!
I have worked my ass off for the last 5 years, in order to go away every year, to somewhere new, somewhere beautiful and generally somewhere I might find an adventure. I recently watched the film "Letters To Juliet" which is a sappy rom-com, but for me the best part of the film was seeing the different places the characters ended up: Vineyards, The House of Capulet, the beautiful Italian countryside.

Breathtaking!

I have GOALS not Resolutions!

I'm a firm believer in having goals rather than having resolutions... The reason being is that every year we make our New Year's Resolutions, go full force into them and then fizzle out before the end of January.

Living La Vida Loca!!

So, here I am in Spain and what is the only think I can think about? Yeah, a home cooked meal by my mum!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm loving the hot weather and the tapas and for sure the icecream, but things would be going a lot smoother if I had my home comforts here. For example, I don't have the internet where I'm staying- the only reason for posting is that I have borrowed somebody's iPad!! Four weeks without internet, proper coffee and a comfortable bed and you start to feel homesick pretty fast.

Day 1 of Half Marathon Training & Valencia Prep!

Getting Back to Running

So training today was okay, but I can admit that man, I am out of shape! I busted my gut out there today doing my usual walk-run plan, and it was hard! I was a little nervous before as I forgot my bad boys (read: trainers) at uni and wore my trusty Reebok's (No Chav jokes please, I was exercising) instead. I had no lycra, no proper trainers and hadn't been running in a while, so to say I was nervous was a little bit of an understatement.

Holiday Update- Days 1-3!

So it's my third day in Turkey and I'm already super brown! ... Albeit a tad burnt around the edges, but to be fair only a little pink so nothing that won't go gorgeously LA-ish!
Here's a round up of my holiday...........

Brits to make record holiday bookings this weekend on 'Sunshine Sunday'
